The Stort Valley Branch is run totally by volunteers and we are a separately registered charity & branch of the RSPCA and primarily responsible for raising our own funds locally and all monies go directly to helping animals in the local community
Pet Food & Bedding
We are no longer able to accept Pet Food and Bedding at our Animal Welfare Clinic at Harlow due to space restrictions. If you wish to donate Pet Food, then please contact your local Foodbank.
We need your donations of good quality clothing and shoes, books and DVD’s to sell in our shop. Please bring them to our shop in Bishop’s Stortford – sorry, we haven’t got the space for furniture.
Make a Will
A legacy to the RSPCA Stort Valley Branch will provide crucial funds. We could not carry out our work without such generous support.
You can do this by making a will or by adding a codicil (a document which specifies alterations to your will).
If you are making a will, please remember that the RSPCA Stort Valley Branch and all the other RSPCA branches are separate registered charities.
So, if you would like the animals in your local area to benefit, we would respectfully suggest that your legacy reads:
I give the sum of £………. (or specify a share of residue) to the RSPCA Stort Valley Branch, Registered Charity Number 233908, 23 The Stow, Harlow, Essex for its general purposes and I declare that the receipt of the Honorary Treasurer or other proper officer of the said RSPCA branch for the time being shall be a full and sufficient discharge for the said legacy.
Please note that a will or codicil needs to be properly witnessed and you should obtain legal advice.
Gifts to registered charities are generally exempt from inheritance and capital gains taxes.
A gift to the RSPCA Stort Valley Branch would therefore greatly benefit the local animals with minimum burden to your estate.
